The essay contest topic is “What America means to me”. The contest will be open to all New York State schoolchildren in First through Fifth grades. This year we have expanded our contest to include a winning entry for each grade level, first through fifth. Each winner will receive a One Hundred Dollar United States Savings Bond and a fifty-dollar Pizza Party for their classroom. The deadline for the contest will be on Saturday, May 1, 2010. The winning entry will be notified prior to the school year ending.
