David L Bishop Detachment of New York Commander 92 Broderick Street Albany, NY 12205- (518)862-1424 Email: Dave is a 18 year member of the Sons of the American Legion. He is also a lifetime member of the Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 in Albany County.

Dave gets his eligibility through his father Leonard E. Bishop Sr. who served honorable as a staff-sargeant in the United States Army during WW II.

At the squadron level Dave has served as a vice commander and as a squadron commander for 8 years.

At the District level Dave has served as 3rd District Commander for 4 years and was very instrumental in re-organizing the 3rd District Sons of the American Legion

At the Detachment Level Dave has served on the Membership Committee as well as the Internal Affairs and VA&R Commissions. He has also served as a Vice Commander for 1 year.

Dave is supported by his wife Johanne, his 5 children, Penny, Lisa, Dave Jr., Danny and Krissy and his 7 grandchildren who are all members of the American Legion Family.
